How it works

A clear route from first enquiry to useful numbers.

Whether this is your first accountant or you are switching firms, the process is organised around a proper handover and an agreed operating rhythm.

01

Tell us about the business

Complete the assessment so we understand your structure, current setup, priorities and goals before we respond.

02

Discovery call

We discuss the detail, answer questions and identify the level of support that makes commercial sense.

03

Scope and handover

You receive a clear scope. If you proceed, we collect records, obtain authorisations and coordinate with an existing accountant.

04

Ongoing rhythm

Deadlines, responsibilities and reporting dates are mapped so both sides know what happens next.

What to expect from us

A straightforward working relationship from day one.

Jack explains communication, plain-English advice, regular catch-ups and proactive support once you become a client.

Switching accountants

A handover should feel organised, not awkward.

Once the engagement and timing are agreed, we request professional clearance and the records needed from your existing accountant. We then check opening balances, software access, authorisations and upcoming deadlines.

You do not need to manage the professional conversation yourself. We keep you informed about what has arrived, what is still needed and when the new service will begin.

A proper start

What we check before routine work begins.

We confirm the legal structure, accounting period, tax registrations, Companies House and HMRC deadlines, bookkeeping cut-off, bank and software access, payroll dates and any returns already in progress. If records need catch-up work, that is separated from the recurring scope so there is no confusion over what is included.

Your ongoing rhythm

Once the opening position is clear, we map document dates, bookkeeping cut-offs, payroll approvals, VAT periods, reporting meetings and annual deadlines. You know what we need, when we need it and when the useful information will come back.

Before the call

Nine questions make the first conversation better.

The assessment asks about business type, legal structure, revenue, stage, team, challenge, current setup, goals and contact details. It normally takes two to three minutes.
